How much does an English course in Dublin cost?
The cost of an English course in Dublin depends on far more than a single headline fee. Two schools can advertise very different prices for what looks like the same course once you account for weekly hours, length, season and what is bundled in. Rather than quote figures that go out of date, this guide explains what drives the price so you can compare schools fairly and read each listing with the right questions in mind.
For current fees, check the individual school and course listings. Prices change and are set by each school, so always confirm the latest figure directly before you book or pay.
What drives the price
Course type
General English is usually the most affordable option. Exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge), Business English and one-to-one tuition typically cost more because of specialised teaching and smaller groups.
Intensity (hours per week)
Courses are priced largely by weekly contact hours. A part-time or standard course has fewer hours than an intensive one, so the weekly fee is lower, but you cover less in the same number of weeks.
Length of enrolment
Longer bookings often reduce the price per week, and the Academic Year route (usually 25 weeks) is priced differently from short, weekly courses. Check whether a school quotes per week, per block or per programme.
Time of year
Summer and other peak periods can carry higher fees and junior-programme pricing. Quieter months may be cheaper.
What is included
Compare like with like. A quoted fee may or may not include registration, course materials, exam entry, a certificate, or accommodation and airport transfers arranged through the school.
Comparing schools fairly
Compare the same course type, the same weekly hours and the same number of weeks, then check what each fee includes. A lower headline price can exclude registration, materials, exam entry or accommodation that another school bundles in, so the cheaper option is not always the better value. Our course and school pages let you line these up side by side.
This guide explains cost factors only and does not quote prices. Course fees are set by each school and change over time. Always confirm the current fee and exactly what it includes with the school before booking.
