Student Life in Ireland
Everything you need to know about living and studying in Ireland
Making Friends in Ireland
Ireland is famous for its friendly people. English language schools bring together students from over 40 countries, creating a diverse and social learning environment. Most schools organise activities, social events and weekend trips to help students connect outside the classroom. You will meet people from Brazil, Spain, Italy, France, Japan and beyond. Friendships made in Ireland often last a lifetime.
Working While Studying
Students on a Stamp 2 visa can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours per week during college holidays. Many students find part-time work in hospitality, retail, and customer service, which also provides excellent practice for improving your spoken English in real-world situations.
Important: You must be enrolled in a minimum 15-hour per week course to be eligible to work on a Stamp 2 visa.
Culture & Entertainment
From traditional music sessions in cosy pubs to world-class festivals, Ireland offers endless cultural experiences. Visit ancient castles and monastic ruins, hike the Cliffs of Moher on the Wild Atlantic Way, attend a GAA hurling or football match, or explore the vibrant arts and music scene in Dublin, Cork and Galway. Ireland has something for every interest and budget.
Travel & Explore Europe from Ireland
Ireland is compact and easy to travel around by bus and train. Take weekend trips to different cities, explore the stunning Wild Atlantic Way coastline, or hop on a budget flight from Dublin, Cork or Shannon airports to explore the rest of Europe. Ireland's well-connected airports make it one of the best bases for European travel. Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Rome are all under 3 hours away.
