About O Grady School

O'Grady School of English is a family-run junior summer provider based in Knockainey, County Limerick, and led by John and Mary O'Grady. Its programme combines formal language learning with participation in local rural community life. The published weekly structure consists of 15 hours of English lessons plus five hours of teacher-directed activities, making 20 hours of teacher contact rather than 20 hours of classroom English. Classes contain a maximum of 15 students and include Irish teenage helpers to encourage conversation. Visiting students stay with local host families, attend organised evening activities and join Saturday excursions to destinations in Ireland. The school also describes accompanied flight arrangements and airport transfers for its youth groups. It is not a conventional adult General English centre.
